15 Incredible Vegan Restaurants in Singapore (+ Vegan-Friendly Hidden Gems)

I’ve traveled to Singapore eight times now and it’s still my favorite country to visit as a vegan.

Whenever I see a food review from a Singaporean, I immediately trust it. 🤣

Food in Singapore is so good, and their vegan food isn’t an exception.

You can find so many different cuisines, from Chinese to Malay, Indian, Indonesian, and Western.

Here’s 15 vegan restaurants in Singapore I’ve been to, some multiple times.

Plus plus vegan-friendly hidden gems and my bucket list of spots I still have to go to!

Vegan Restaurants in Singapore

I’ve marked which are vegetarian, but serve mostly vegan food or can be veganized.

1. Warung Ijo

Google Maps | Instagram | Vegetarian, but mostly vegan

Vegan Nasi Lemak - Warung Ijo Restaurant, Singapore: A traditional plate of vegan Nasi Lemak featuring a central mound of fragrant white rice garnished with crispy shallots. The dish is surrounded by various accompaniments, including sautéed green beans, crunchy peanuts with fried anchovies, a spicy sambal sauce, and a small flag indicating that the meal is 100% plant-based. A crispy fritter and tofu pieces add texture and variety to the meal, creating a vibrant and appetizing spread on a white plate with a marble table backdrop.

Warung Ijo is a vegetarian Indonesian restaurant offering allium-free and 99% vegan dishes.

I’ve eaten here a few times and all of the dishes I’ve tried were solid.

Popular items include nasi lemak, mee goreng, nasi padang, and more.

I’ve also tried their veganized lemper, a glutinous rice snack filled with seasoned vegan chick’n.

2. Veganburg Singapore

A close-up of a VeganBurg mushroom burger in Singapore, featuring a crispy plant-based patty topped with creamy mushroom sauce and fresh green lettuce. The burger is sandwiched between a soft whole wheat bun, with a side of herb-seasoned fries visible in the background. The golden-brown crust of the patty contrasts with the creamy sauce, making it a mouthwatering vegan fast-food option.

Veganburg is a plant-based burger restaurant known for its different burger choices.

It’s is one of the most well-known vegan restaurants in Singapore, and one of the first ones I visited in 2015.

Sadly the location near me in San Francisco closed.

Popular options include the Creamy Shrooms Burger, Char-Grilled Satay Burger, and Chili Krab Burger, served with sides like Seaweed Fries and Mushroom Pops.

3. Bodhi Deli

Google Maps | Instagram | Vegetarian, but mostly vegan

Vegan Chicken Rice - Bohdi Deli, Fortune Centre, Singapore: A simple yet satisfying plate of vegan chicken rice served on a bright yellow plate. The dish features a breaded and fried vegan chicken cutlet sliced into strips, accompanied by a portion of white rice and a side of sautéed greens topped with a savory sauce. The vibrant presentation highlights the contrast between the golden-brown cutlet, the fresh greens, and the fluffy rice.

Bodhli Deli is located inside Fortune Centre, a mall-type building with lots of vegan food.

I usually get their laksa or vegan chicken rice.

The prices range from $3-4 USD and staff there are very sweet.

4. Living Wholesome Vegetarian

Vegan Thunder Tea Rice, Living Wholesome Vegetarian, Singapore: A vibrant bowl of vegan Thunder Tea Rice, featuring a colorful mix of fresh greens, cubed tofu, peanuts, fermented vegetables, and sesame seeds over a bed of rice. Accompanied by a cup of green herbal tea soup, the dish is served on a green tray, offering a nutritious and flavorful meal rich in textures and nutrients.

In the same building is Living Wholesome Vegetarian, famous for their vegan thunder tea rice, or lei cha.

I visit here every time I’m in Singapore, especially when I need something healthier.

They also have a location inside the Bukit Timah Market and Food Centre.

The flavor profile of thunder tea rice is unique and flavorful.

More in Fortune Centre

A plate of vegan economy rice from Su Shi Piao Xiang at Fortune Centre in Singapore, featuring white rice topped with an assortment of flavorful plant-based dishes. The meal includes crispy yuba (tofu skin), stir-fried cabbage and long beans in a light curry sauce, and slices of mock char siu (vegan barbecued pork) with a bright red hue. The rich variety of textures and colors makes this a satisfying and comforting plant-based meal.

Other vegan restaurants I’ve tried inside Fortune Centre are Tracy Juice Culture (popular for their mushroom udon), Herbivore, and Su Shi Piao Xiang for their economy rice.

It’s been awhile since I’ve visited these so I didn’t add them to the list, but trust Fortune Centre will be your vegan haven in Singapore.

5. Yi Xin Vegetarian

Google Maps | Vegetarian, but mostly vegan

Vegan Laksa, Chinatown, Singapore: A steaming bowl of vegan laksa served with rice noodles, vibrant vegetables, and tofu skins in a rich, coconut-based broth. The dish is garnished with a red spoon and chopsticks, ready to be enjoyed. The creamy soup is infused with aromatic spices, creating a comforting and flavorful meal that is both visually appealing and delicious.

Located in Chinatown, Yi Xin Vegetarian has some of the best vegan food in Singapore.

They have an affordable economy rice options where you can choose ready-made-items, but I found their made-to-order food the best.

A plate of olive fried rice from Yi Xin Vegetarian in Singapore, served with crispy vegan satay skewers and peanut sauce. The fried rice is garnished with fresh lettuce, crispy fried shallots, and diced red chilies, adding texture and flavor. The skewers are golden brown, paired with cucumber slices and a thick, nutty peanut dipping sauce on the side.

I’ve gone a few times and had their curry laksa, satay, olive fried rice and curry chicken noodle.

Their curry laksa is one the best laksas I’ve had. And the olive rice is chef’s kiss. So flavorful.

This’ll be one of the first stops I make next time I’m in Singapore.

6. Ahimsa Café

Located close to Chinatown, Ahimsa Café is an all-vegan restaurant in Singapore.

They serve healthier vegan dishes like rice bowls, toasts and smoothie bowls.

I’ve only had their mushroom rendang at a vegan festival in Singapore, and the flavors were great.

Looking forward to visiting their in-person location.

7. Gokul Raas Vegetarian Restaurant

Google Maps | Instagram | Vegetarian, but mostly vegan

Gokul serves veganized Indian and Asian-fusion dishes that might be harder to find as a vegan.

They also have dishes like vegan mutton, vegan fish curries, and vegan butter chicken.

Plus many northern and southern Indian dishes.

Another popular Indian restaurant in Singapore that I frequented mainly for dosa was Komala Vilas Restaurant. Just look out for any use of ghee butter.

Vegan Food at Hawker Centers

A plate of vegan duck rice from a hawker center in Singapore, featuring glazed slices of plant-based duck atop fragrant dark soy sauce rice. The dish is accompanied by crunchy cucumber slices, stir-fried cabbage, and a handful of boiled peanuts on a bright red plate. In the background, a separate black plate holds crispy golden fried wontons with fresh lettuce, completing the meal with a mix of textures and flavors.

I’ve had so many meals at hawker centers / centres in Singapore during all of my visits.

You’ll find hawker centers in almost every neighborhood, which house numerous food stalls serving local and international cuisines at inexpensive prices.

There’s usually always a vegetarian – vegan option.

Unfortunately, I didn’t document all of them and/or they’ve closed since my last visit.

8. Kwan Tzi Zhai Vegetarian Cuisine

Google Maps | Vegetarian, but mostly vegan

Three bowls of vegan laksa from Kwan Tzi Zhai Vegetarian Cuisine in Singapore, served in bright yellow bowls with matching chopsticks and spoons. The creamy, coconut-based curry broth is filled with rice noodles and topped with crispy fried tofu puffs, sambal chili, and a squeeze of lime for added zest. The vibrant colors of the dish contrast beautifully with the warm, rich tones of the broth, making it a comforting and flavorful plant-based meal.

Kwan Tzi Zhai serves a lot of local dishes but they’re most well-known for their curry laksa, which costs only a few dollars.

You can also order items like fried rice and noodles, but I’ve mostly gone there to get their laksa, which has a nice aromatic coconut milk broth.

I’ve also gotten their giant vegan meat-filled bao that were the size of my head.

9. Makan Vegan

Vegan Wanton Mee of vegan egg noodles topped with greens and vegan char siew - Makan Vegan in Singapore

Makan Vegan is an all-vegan hawker food center, located in Geylang.

There’s several food stations where you can order common hawker food dishes and drinks.

A plate of yuba (tofu skin) served at a hawker center in Singapore, featuring crispy and soft layers of tofu skin drizzled with dark soy sauce. The dish is garnished with slices of fresh cucumber and topped with spicy red chili flakes for extra heat. A pair of silver chopsticks rests on the side of the plate, ready to enjoy this flavorful plant-based dish.

I’ve gotten their roti prata (which usually is not prepared vegan), duck rice, and wanton mee noodles.

10. Fire Flies (formerly Thunder Tree)

A bowl of vegan wanton kolo mee from Thunder Tree in Singapore, featuring springy egg-free noodles topped with sesame seeds and julienned carrots. The dish includes crispy golden wantons, bok choy, and marinated mushrooms, adding a variety of textures and flavors. The white bowl contrasts with the colorful ingredients, making this a visually appealing and delicious plant-based meal.

I tried this vegan restaurant in Singapore when it was called Thunder Tree, but I’ll never forget how flavorful the food was.

I ordered a bunch and the waiter even smiled and said “for one person?” 🤣 (I devoured it.)

They offer different kolo mee options plus braised tofu rice and thunder tea rice.

I’m definitely stopping by here on future trips.

Vegan Desserts in Singapore

You’ll find vegan-friendly desserts from all cuisines and neighboring countries in Singapore.

Many traditional sweets are accidentally vegan and use coconut milk like different kuih, cendol, ondeh-odeh, pulut hitam and dessert soups which are less sweeter.

11. Kind Kones

A display of vegan ice cream flavors at Kind Kones in Singapore, featuring a variety of plant-based options made with coconut milk. Flavors include "Strawberry," "Madagascan," and "Ondeh Ondeh," with ingredient labels highlighting coconut milk, pandan, gula melaka, and fresh fruits. The ice cream tubs are arranged in a glass case, showcasing their vibrant colors and creamy textures.

Kind Kones has five locations in Singapore, but I’ve only been to their locations on Orchard Rd, as well as at vegan festivals.

They’re completely vegan and serve unique flavors like pandan gula melaka (my favorite), black forest, matcha, and almond brittle.

They also other items like brownies, banana split, cakes, waffles, coffee, and lattes.

12. M Bakery

Google Maps | Vegetarian, but mostly vegan

A glass display case at M Bakery in Singapore, filled with an assortment of vegan cakes in different flavors. The cakes include "Coffee," "Black Forest," "Yam," and "Yuzu Cake," with price tags of $4.50 per slice. A bakery staff member reaches into the case, arranging the colorful and beautifully layered desserts.

I always go to M Bakery right before I leave to stock up on treats to bring with me on my flight or to my next country.

Most of their pastries, baked goods, and cakes are vegan. Make sure to ask if you’re not sure.

I get their savory items, sweet breads, and moist cake slices. The mocha cake is so good.

It’s a bit farther from central Singapore but worth it and the prices are reasonable.

13. Haig Road Putu Piring

Putu Piring, a steamed rice cake filled with gula melaka sugar bits - from Haig Road in Singapore

Located at Haig Road Food Centre, this stall is famous for its putu piring (featured on Netflix’s “Street Food”).

It’s traditional Malay steamed rice cake filled with palm sugar and topped with grated coconut.

Putu piring is one of my favorite accidentally-vegan desserts in Asia, and theirs are so soft.

14. Hup Ka Foon

Google Maps | Instagram | Vegetarian, but many vegan options

Cendol dessert of shaved ice topped with sweetened red beans, coconut milk, gula melaka sugar sauce and green pandan jellies

Hup Ka Foon is located in Chinatown right next to the grand Buddha Tooth Relic Temple.

They have a lot of traditional and accidentally-vegan desserts, but I go here for their cendol, which consists of shaved ice, pandan jellies, sweetened red beans, coconut milk, and then topped with a smoky gula melaka sugar sauce.

It might be the best cendol I’ve eaten, and I’ve had quite a bit (as a tourist from the US at least).

15. Granny’s Pancake

Google Maps | Instagram | All-vegan

Granny’s Pancake has a few locations inside hawker centers in Singapore.

Min Jiang Kueh, also known as apam balik, is a type of springy soft pancake that’s usually not vegan, but theirs are!

You can choose from different fillings like peanut butter, red bean, and coconut.

Each pancake is only around $1 USD per piece.

There’s so many vegan restaurants in Singapore (+ vegan-friendly vegetarian spots).

I would have to live in Singapore to get through even most of them!

Here’s some restaurants that I’ve been eyeing and will save for my future trips.
