7 Most Popular Vegan Restaurants in Makati to Try in 2024

Being vegan in the Philippines can sometimes be difficult, but the amount of vegan restaurants and businesses have increased over the past years, including one of the biggest and most close-knit vegan communities I’ve seen in my travels.

I’ve visited the Philippines more than 18 times already. Whenever I stay in Metro Manila, I love to go for the vegan restaurants in Makati.

The vegan food in Makati is really flavorful and filling, and some of these vegan restaurants in Makati are my go-to for vegan Filipino food.

Here’s a list of the most popular vegan restaurants in Makati to try in 2024.

If you’re visiting the Philippines as a vegan for the first time, don’t miss my essential tips for being vegan in the Philippines.

7 Best Vegan Restaurants in Makati

1. Cosmic Philippines

Address: G/F, 4980 P. Guanzon, Poblacion, Makati, 1210 Metro Manila, Philippines

Cosmic Cafe is probably my favorite vegan restaurant in Makati, maybe in all of Philippines. They have two locations in Makati and Pasig.

Vegan Kare-Kare - Cosmic Cafe Vegan Restaurant Makati: A bowl of vegan kare-kare, a traditional Filipino stew made with a rich, creamy peanut sauce. The dish features fried tofu cubes, slices of eggplant, green beans, and other vegetables, all coated in the flavorful sauce. The kare-kare is served in a rustic green bowl, with a side dish partially visible in the background. The presentation is warm and appetizing, highlighting the hearty and comforting nature of this vegan version of a classic Filipino dish.

If you want to try vegan Filipino food, this is the perfect place to go.

You have to get their vegan sisig. It’s the best I’ve tried. I’ve brought non-vegan friends to Cosmic and the sisig was their favorite, along with the vegan kare-kare with vegan lechon kawali.

Their most popular for their flavorful vegan tantanmen ramen.

They also serve vegan banh mi, baos, dumplings, and many other dishes at affordable prices.

In the same restaurant is their Ikigai cafe with vegan kakigori or Japanese shaved ice. It’s so good! I especially love their matcha kakigori.

Shaka is a vegan restaurant chain with seven locations in the Philippines. They serve filling, healthy comfort food like burgers, noodle dishes, and breakfast items.

They’re also popular for their smoothies bowls and really good drinks. I always leave feeling satisfyingly full.

Vegan Burger - Shaka Cafe Restaurant BGC Manila Philippines: A hearty vegan burger served on a wooden board, featuring a soft sesame bun with layers of a plant-based patty, grilled pineapple, sautéed spinach, and a creamy sauce. The burger is accompanied by a side of thick-cut fries and a small bowl of dipping sauce. In the background, a tall glass of a refreshing tropical smoothie is visible, garnished with a slice of fruit and a straw. The setting is bright and casual, with a view of the outdoor area through large windows, creating a relaxed dining atmosphere.
