Top Vegan Restaurants in Chiang Mai Worth Visiting
Chiang Mai is one of the easiest cities in Thailand for vegan and vegetarian travelers. I’ve visited twice—seven years apart—and the vegan scene has only grown, with more restaurants than ever.
The first time I went to Chiang Mai was for a vegan fruit festival, and I had the best time trying vegan restaurants in Chiang Mai with other vegheads I met.
In this guide, I’ll share 7 of the best vegan restaurants in Chiang Mai that I tried and loved on my recent trip.

2. May Kaidee Restaurant — Northern & Isaan Dishes
Address: 29 4 Chang Moi Kao Rd, Tambon Si Phum, Mueang Chiang Mai District

May Kaidee is probably my favorite vegan restaurant in Chiang Mai. They also have locations in Bangkok and New York.
This restaurant location is run by the sweetest family and cook northern Thailand and Isaan-style vegan food.
They also offer popular cooking classes for vegan Thai food.

All of the dishes are flavorful, cooked fresh, and more affordable than most other vegan spots.
Some of their dishes that I recommend:
- Vegan khao soi
- Pineapple fried rice
- Massaman curry
- Thai mango sticky rice
3. Khun Kae’s Juice & Smoothie Bar
Address: 19 3 Mun Mueang Rd, Si Phum Sub-district, เมือง Chiang Mai 50200

Khun Kae’s Juice & Smoothie Bar is a vegan juice and smoothie bar in Chiang Mai old town.
It’s a small, quaint cafe that serves healthy smoothie bowls, smoothies, juices, and drinks made from locally sourced fruits and vegetables.
Their smoothie bowls that are topped with lots of nuts and fruits are only around $3-4 USD, and their smoothies and juices start at $1.50 USD.
They’re open from 9am-7:30pm. There’s indoor seating, but gets busy around 11am.
This is the perfect vegan breakfast in Chiang Mai.
4. Vegan Heaven Restaurant — Largest Vegan Menu
Address: 44, 6 Loi Kroh Rd, Tambon Chang Khlan, Mueang Chiang Mai District

Vegan Heaven is one of the more well-known vegan spots in Chiang Mai.
They serve vegan Thai food, Western-style dishes, and fusion dishes.
They have one of the largest vegan menus I’ve ever seen. They also have a wide selection of vegan desserts, such as brownies, waffles, and ice cream, as well as a variety of fresh juices and smoothies.

I got the pineapple fried rice and vegan Massaman curry.
Both weren’t my favorite vegan versions of these from others spots that I’ve been to, but yummy nonetheless.
Vegan Heaven is open daily from 9am to 10pm, and have plenty of seating.
5. I’m Your Vegan Restaurant (UPDATE: TEMPORARILY CLOSED)
Address: 29 Nimmana Haeminda Rd Lane 17, Tambon Su Thep, Mueang Chiang Mai District

I’m Your Vegan is a vegan restaurant in Nimman, Chiang Mai that opened in 2021. They serve creative western-fusion dishes.
You can get starters like vegan “shrimp” and fried chik’n. Their vegan burgers include Japanese-style, Mexican, and Thai-flavored.

I had the Classic Burger, fries with colored aioli, and a mango smoothie, all of which were really tasty and filling.
The mango smoothie was one of the best I had in Chiang Mai. They also have a lot of vegan milkshake options.
I’d definitely visit again, and this vegan eatery is a top vegan restaurant in the Nimman area.
6. 7 Senses Gelato — Best Dessert Fix
Address: 41/5 Nimmana Haeminda Rd Lane 11, Suthep, Mueang Chiang Mai District

7 Senses Gelato is a not all vegan, but they offer a wide range of vegan gelato flavors made from coconut milk.
They have vegan options labeled at the counter, but also have separate menus for more vegan gelato options, which will be marked by a green vegan box.

I tried their vegan pistachio gelato and it was so creamy and flavorful. I’d definitely go again to try more flavors!
And another good vegan breakfast in Chiang Mai, because why not?
7. The Donut Cafe — Vegan Breakfast Options
Address: 1 Huay Kaew Rd, Tambon Chang Phueak, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50300, Thailand

The Donut Cafe is not a vegan nor vegetarian cafe in Chiang Mai, but all of their donuts are vegan.
They also serve vegan savory options like breakfast muffins and coffee.
Their donuts were really good. A mix between yeast and cake donuts. Their donut flavors include maple pecan, coffee crunch, and strawberry lemonade.

Each donut was 50 bhat, or $1.40 USD.
Another good option for vegan breakfast in Chiang Mai. Buy a bunch, and save for other days.
