Travelpayouts Affiliate Program Review + 2024 Income Report
I’ve been using Travelpayouts for over a year now for this blog.
I started my blog in 2022, but only took it seriously at the end of 2023 after bingeing She Knows SEO’s courses.
It wasn’t until the beginning of 2024 that I started making money, and it was from the Travelpayouts affiliate program.
Here’s my Travelpayouts review and income report for 2024 and tips I learned along the way.

What is the Travelpayouts Affiliate Program?
The Travelpayouts affiliate program is more of a network and platform of affiliates, and not just one affiliate program.
Travelpayouts has more than 100 travel-related brands in its network.
Here are the different categories of brand partners on Travelpayouts:
- Flights
- Accommodation/Hotels
- Transportation
- Entertainment
- Tours
- Car Insurance
Basically, you’re given trackable links to other brands’ products (i.e. hotels, train tickets) that you can promote on blog posts and social media.
If a reader clicks on that link and makes a purchase within a given timeframe, you receive a percentage, or commission, of that sale.
What is the Travelpayouts Commission Rate?
The commission rate varies by brand, but the average rate is around 5%, and has continued to increase since I signed up.

What Brands I Use on Travelpayouts
The main ones I use are:
- Agoda.com, a popular accommodation booking site in Asia. They also have a high commission rate of 7.2%.
- Trip.com for train bookings.
- Discover Cars, though I don’t use a lot of rental car links in my blogs.
- Tripadvisor for any locations I can’t find any tours to link to.
- Airalo for eSIMs.
- Klook.com, though they’re mostly links I haven’t converted from the direct Klook affiliate program.
- GetYourGuide for any tours I can’t find on Klook or Viator. My audience also doesn’t use GYG much.
What I Don’t Use Travelpayouts For
- I don’t use Travelpayouts for my Viator tour links. I use Viator’s direct program. They just pay more frequently.
- I also use Klook’s direct affiliate program instead of Travelpayouts. Klook’s reporting and analytics are better, though I’m considering transferring them over.
- While I do most of my accommodation links with Agoda, I do use Stay22 for their pop-up feature and some Booking.com links, though the rates are lower.
How Much I Made on Travelpayouts in 2024
The screenshot below is the estimated commissions from bookings each month (after any cancellations as of January 2025), along with the number of sessions on my blog.
Some programs like Klook.com tours are counted as confirmed immediately, whereas Agoda generally are pending earnings, and it often takes a few months to be confirmed for payout:
BUT below are the actual amounts I received each month in 2024 after completed bookings i.e. when people finished their hotel stay:
- January: $31.52
- February: $5.04
- March: $256.06
- April: $301.81
- May: $169.40
- June: $398.13
- July: $556.94
- August: $454.82
- September: $568.19
- October: $85.19
- November: $158.01
- December: $126.24
Breakdown from each Program:
Most of the money I made from Travelpayouts in 2024 was from Agoda hotel bookings.
The numbers below include received and pending commissions:
- Agoda.com: $2746
- Klook.com: $151
- Trip.com: $29
- Discover Cars: $122
- Tripadvisor: $3
- Airalo: $11
- GetYourGuide: $13
Notes:
Even though my traffic started to dip after May, which is a peak season for my audience, I still made more money in lower-traffic months by making improvements to my affiliate link texts and boxes (again, a lot from which I learned with She Knows SEO’s courses).
My Travelpayouts Plan for 2025
I’m going to continue using Travelpayouts primarily for Agoda.com.
My potential earning for January 2025 so far is $378 with 26,000 sessions, which is more than some of my months in 2024 with lower traffic.
I’m in a middle of a bi-annual blog audit and will use Microsoft Clarity’s heat maps to see which affiliate links and boxes people actually click on.
One of my most highest-earning posts was from “Where to stay in X for first-time visitors” which ranks well, so I’ll try to do similar posts.
How to Sign Up for the Travelpayouts Affiliate Program
- Sign up on Travelpayouts.com.
- Once you register and verify your email, you get automatic access to the Travelpayouts Dashboard.
- Look for a few brands that you want to get started with and click on “Details” for each program.
- Click on “Join the program.” While some brands automatically accept applicants, some will say “Pre-approval is required.” The ones I signed up for were approved the same or following day. You will be notified via email.
- Once approved, select the “Tools” tab for each program. Get started with their affiliate links by copying and pasting the “deep link” into your blog or social media posts.
- You can also do this by clicking on the blue “Create link” bar on the top right of the homepage.
Don’t Regret Starting Sooner!
So far, affiliates are my top income source, over ad revenue, my Youtube channel, and other side quests.
A lot of my travel blog efforts in the beginning were just busy work that didn’t contribute to my main goals for this blog.
I wish I started imperfectly sooner then just adjust after seeing what works and what doesn’t.
As shown by many travel blog income reports, affiliate programs are profitable and worth the effort put in.
