My Review of Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall

Superior Queen Bed with white sheets - Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall
Pros:
  • The rooms are very clean, tidy, and modern-looking.
  • The surrounding area is a busy business and restaurant area. I walked alone at 1am, and the area was well-lit and safe to walk.
  • The front-desk is open 24 hours.
  • Its location is very central and is walkable to Myeongdong and Insadong. The City Hall train station is just a few minutes walk away:
Vibrant cityscape with modern architecture and lush green trees in front of a contemporary glass building.
Cons:
  • When I stayed there, the wifi internet connection wasn’t the fastest. However, things may have changed since then. Other than that, it was the perfect hotel.

How Much is a Room at Travelodge Myeongdong City Hall?

Prices will vary by the season, and will cost more during peak seasons.

This hotel has 129 rooms and offers a wide range of room types, from doubles to superior, family and deluxe rooms.

I stayed in late July to early August in 2022 for 7 nights and booked the Superior Queen. The total including tax was 398,520 won, or $304 USD.

However, looking at estimated costs for the same dates now, prices have increased.

Still, given the prime location and quality, staying here would be worth the price.

  • The basement floor also has a large cafeteria-style kitchen/lounge with microwaves.
  • The lobby has a nice lounge with lots of seating and a coffee shop where breakfast is served (closed when I visited).
  • A gym, though I didn’t see or use it.

Taking the AREX train from the airport will require a transfer. Hop on the train towards Seoul Station.

Stop at Seoul station, then take the blue or number 1 line towards Yangju. Stop at City Hall.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk away from exit 7. The train will take around 80 minutes in total.
