9 Kdrama Filming Locations in Suwon (2025)
I recently took a day trip to Suwon and tried to visit as many kdrama filming sites as I could.
Suwon itself is worth visiting and the city center gives off cozy-town vibes, with preserved historic sites.
Here are 9 kdramas filmed in Suwon to add to your next trip.
Most are in the city center and are within walking distance.
I also included kdrama filming locations in Suwon I wasn’t able to get to and would visit for next time.
➡️ Read my full day trip to Suwon itinerary (excluding the kdrama side quests).
1. Lovely Runner
The kdrama with the most scenes filmed in Suwon was Lovely Runner.
In total I visited 9 Lovely Runner filming locations in Suwon.
The 2 sites listed below are the most iconic ones.
For all locations, read my full post of 19 Lovely Runner Kdrama Filming Locations.
Im Sol’s and Ryu Sun-jae’s Houses
Their houses are located right across from each other.
Sol’s house is currently a cafe called Mong Ted with the yellow umbrella deco in tact.
Sun-jae’s house with the blue door is I believe a private residence.
Haengnidan Street
A few blocks left of Sol’s house is a popular cafe street in Suwon called Haengnidan-gil where they go on a “date” after Sun-jae wins a swimming competition.

2. Twenty Five, Twenty One
While most of Twenty Five, Twenty One was filmed in the city of Jeonju, this kdrama filming location in Suwon is one of the most recognizable sites in the show.
Hwaseong Fortress, Paldamun Gate
This is where Na Hee-do and Bae Yi-jin wait for the bus, and when he ties her shoe.
There is no actual bus coming through here.
It’s also shown in the last episode. ❤️🩹
I visited at night after hiking the Hwaseong Fortress:
3. Our Beloved Summer
Our Beloved Summer has two kdrama filming locations in Suwon you can visit.
Choi Ung’s House
This appears to be a private residence and is located in city center.
It currently has a painting of both characters.
Kook Yeon-soo’s House
This is a bit farther from city center, but still walkable.
Sadly it was getting dark and I didn’t visit.
4. Extraordinary Attorney Woo
Extraordinary Attorney Woo has one filming location in Suwon you can visit, shown throughout the drama.
Woo Young Kimbap Shop
The popular kimbap shop that Woo Young-woo’s dad owns is currently a Korean street food restaurant.
It’s located near the Haengnidan-gil area known for its aesthetic cafes and restaurants.
5. Love Scout
Love Scout is a recent kdrama from 2025, but I immediately recognized the Hwaseong Fortress walls in the backdrop of episode 4.
Hwaseomun Gate
They run to a convenience store (7-Eleven) in front of the Hwaseomun Gate when it starts to rain.
This is also when Eun-ho brings out the cute pink umbrella.
6. The Golden Spoon
This kdrama also features the Paldamun Gate used in Twenty Five, Twenty One.
Hwaseong Fortress, Paldamun Gate
In the kdrama, this is where Seung-Cheon makes a deal with the halmoni for the magical golden spoon.
7. The Law Cafe
The cafe used in the drama is an actual cafe called Booter (부터).
Booter Cafe
It’s located in the popular Haengnidan-gil area, the same street where Sol and Sun-jae go on a date in Lovely Runner.
8. The King: Eternal Monarch
Not a major scene, but the library where Lee Gon and Jeong Tae-eul meet in episode 2 was Hallim Library in Suwon.
Hallim Library
You’ll need to take a 25-minute bus to get there.
9. Love Alarm
I spotted a few Hwaseong Fortress filming backdrops in season 1 and 2 of Love Alarm.
Hwaseong Fortress, Paldamun Gate
Hye-yeong bikes after Kim Jo-jo in season 2. This is the same area as the scenes in Twenty Five, Twenty One.
Also located near the stairs to Paldamun Gate is a scene where Hye-yeong and Sun-oh meet.
Hwaseong Fortress Trail
In season 2, episode 3, Hye-yeong and Sun-oh meet again, this time on the Hwaseong Fortress trail.
This looks like the south-western part of the trail.
I hiked this path in my recent day trip to Suwon:
More Kdrama Filming Locations in Suwon
These are kdramas I haven’t watched, but had scenes filmed in Suwon.
Jewel in the Palace
This period kdrama used Hwaseong Haenggung as its set, which I did visit and is located in city center:
Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart
Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart is another period kdrama (starring IU) that had filming locations in Suwon, specifically at Wolhwawon Garden.
You will need to take a bus to get here.
