Best Time to Visit Haneul Park (Season, Time of Day)

View of Haneul Park in autumn, Seoul, Korea, showcasing vibrant foliage in shades of red, orange, and green with city skyscrapers in the background and wooden paths winding through the landscape.

Autumn-Time

When I first visited in early November in 2024, I missed the peak of the Pampas Grass Festival of fiery red-pink Kochia flowers, but there was plenty of silver grass.

When I went again in the second week of November in 2025, all of the flora was in its peak due to a delayed autumn season.

It’s hard to predict the peak season in 2025. I recommend checking the Google Maps page for Haneul Park and sort the comments by newest for recent photos.

Note there are no more of the famous pink muhly grass.

Other Seasons

In summer, the park will be greener, while winter brings a drier landscape, though the sunset and night views are still worth it.

➡️ Regardless of seasons, if you can, visit just before sunset and stay til evening.

As a solo female traveler, I’ve always felt safe and there will be quite a bit of visitors into the late night.

Haneul Park Highlights & Best Photo Spots

While Haneul Park is most famous for its silver and kochia grass in autumn, there are also art displays, sunset views, and views of Han River and Seoul that are worth seeing.

Many of the art displays change per season.

Art Installations

Regardless of season, I believe the giant teddy bear will always be there.

If you visit Haneul Park during the autumn months of October and early November, you’ll likely see the Pampas Grass Festival with beautiful fields of light pink-silver eulalia grass.

Kochia Burning Bush

During the peak of autumn, you’ll also see a field of fiery red-pink Kochia.

There will a viewing deck along the Han River to watch sunset views.

There are also smaller viewing decks to the left of here near the restroom.
