7 Bridges in Seoul Worth Visiting (+Best Night Views)

There’s over 29 bridges in Seoul crossing the Han River, and many more outside of the river.

They’re one of my favorite things to spot, as they’re all different.

You also get an aerial view of surrounding flora and greenery depending on the season.

Plus many are recognizable in kdramas! 😜

Some of the bridges are also lit up at night and are viewable from parks that you can hang out at.

Here are 7 bridges in Seoul worth visiting, including walkable bridges, bridges to visit at night, and a few featured in shows.

If it’s your first time visiting, make sure to read my travel guide to South Korea.

1. Seonyugyo Bridge

Seonyugyo Bridge is a modern cable-stayed pedestrian bridge with sleek white cables stretching over a lush green park. The bridge has a curved walkway with metal railings, surrounded by autumn-colored trees and high-rise buildings in the background.

Seonyugyo Bridge is a pedestrian-only footbridge that leads to Seonyudo Park, which is located on a mini island in the middle of Han River.

Seonyudo Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Seoul I’ve visited, especially during autumn.

Seonyugyo Bridge is softly lit up at night, though most worth visiting during the day to visit Seonyudo Park.

Exiting Seonyudo Park, you can also walk down the white-arched Yanghwa Bridge.

2. Munhwa Pedestrian Bridge

Munhwa Pedestrian Bridge is a modern cable-stayed pedestrian bridge with sleek white cables stretching over a lush green park. The bridge has a curved walkway with metal railings, surrounded by autumn-colored trees and high-rise buildings in the background. One of the best bridges in Seoul.

Munhwa Pedestrian Bridge is another pedestrian-only bridge located next to all of the Yeouido parks.

I initially visited because it was featured in the kdrama Doctor Slump, and it turned out to be one of my favorite bridges in Seoul, surrounded by autumn foliage and flora.

The architectural features of the bridge are softly illuminated at night.

It’s worth visiting in the evening for a nice stroll too.

3. Banpo Bridge & Jamsu Bridge

Banpo Bridge at night features the Moonlight Rainbow Fountain, with arcs of illuminated purple water spraying into the Han River. The fountain’s jets create a dynamic wave effect, while city lights reflect on the water. The pedestrian walkway under the bridge provides a close-up view of the cascading water show.

The duo Banpo Bridge and Jamsu Bridge is a double-deck bridge with Banpo on top and Jamsu on the lower deck.

It’s probably the most popular bridge in Seoul.

I visited during the summer when they have daily Moonlight Rainbow Fountain shows.

A view from the pedestrian walkway under Banpo Bridge at night, where the Moonlight Rainbow Fountain sprays arcs of purple-lit water into the Han River. The illuminated water contrasts against the darkening sky, with the city skyline visible in the background. Pedestrians in rain ponchos walk along the path beside the bridge railing.

I also walked on the Jamsu Bridge, where’s you’ll see runners and cyclists.

You get an additional view of the water fountain over you.

The bridge is lit up at night, but it’s during the months of April to October when they have the fountain show.

4. Seongsan Bridge

Seongsan Bridge is an arched orange bridge that connects Seoul’s Mapo and Yeongdeungpo districts.

I’ve only seen an aerial view of Seongsan Bridge whenever I visited Haneul Park.

While a road bridge, there are walking paths on both sides of the bridge.

It’s most worth viewing from parks and walkways under or near the bridge, especially at night.

5. World Cup Bridge

Located right next to Seongsan Bridge is the World Cup Bridge.

Similarly, it has walking paths on each side. It’s also colorfully lit up at night.

This is another bridge I’ve only seen from above.

Fun tidbit: in 2021, BTS performed Butter on this bridge for The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

6. Mapo Bridge

Yeouido Hangang Park features a riverside walkway with curved concrete steps leading down to the water’s edge. The Mapo Bridge, a long blue structure supported by concrete pillars, stretches across the Han River.

You might have passed Mapo Bridge while walking down Yeouido Hangang Park, where it stretches into an overpass over the park.

While you can walk across the bridge, the bridge is mostly known for and viewable from the park below.

This bridge is also popular for having a great view of the annual Seoul World Fireworks Festival.

7. Seogang Bridge

Two men stand outside Dobongsan Station, next to the station sign written in Korean, English, and Japanese. The well-lit entrance contrasts with the dark evening sky, and one man checks his phone while the other observes.

Located right next to Mapo Bridge is the red-arched Seogang Bridge.

In Squid Game season 2, this bridge is used during the chase scene where Gi-hun is riding in the Front Man’s limousine, and where Jun-ho is following behind.

The bridge was also featured in b-roll shots in season 2 of XO Kitty.

While walkable, this bridge is most worth seeing from far away.

🎥 Special mention: Bongeungyo Bridge was also featured in season 2 of Squid Game where soldiers enter the game via sem-trucks.

More Bridges in Seoul

Autumn view from Haneul Park shows a panoramic view of the Han River with the red-arched Seongsan Bridge in the foreground. The background showcases Seoul’s skyline, including skyscrapers and distant mountains, with trees in shades of orange and green.

There are many more bridges in Seoul, but these are the some of the most popular and note-worthy ones.

I’ll continue to add if I come across any more majestic views.

Have fun in Seoul!
